TYLER'S
AYOTTE CUSTOM DRUMS

Ayotte Custom Drum Kit

For the last few years, Tyler has been playing on a red sparkle custom drum kit from Ayotte Drums of Canada.

For something like Two shows, tyler got a new drum head for his bass drum with an Everything To Everyone flag that said 'E2E' on it. The kit was then moved to the BNL B-Kit and was used still being used for backup purposes - it showed up on the Sharon Osbourne Show, for example.

Then, when the peep show tour began, he had a new set of sky-blue drums with a blank flag bass head.

The set is once again made by Ayotte. I would feel somewhat safe in guessing that he uses the same drum specs and Aquarian heads - I would think that this is just a new colour scheme for the new tour - but I could be wrong. I have no direct evidence of what he's using. The drums are setup the same though.

As for the bass head. There were three E2E flag heads Tyler used for E2E touring. All three had the image of the Everything to Everyone flag (all seem to be virtually identical in terms of the flag). On his old Maroon kit, the flag read 'E2E'. On this blue kit, there has been a blank flag and one that reads 'Everything'.

The 'Everything' image seems to come from their rehearsal space from before the peep show tour. By the time the tour began (at least by the time of the second show in NYC) the flag was blank. Make up your mind Tyler.

Some time during the winter '04 E4E tour, (I saw it in Toronto) Tyler changed the bass head to a design that seemed based on the E2E boxes of cereal used during the Shopping number. It had Horizontal Blues and white stripes with 'Everything' on it.

In late '04 the red kit returned to duty on the Holiday tour in North America, but before that they played a UK leg with their B-Kit. These shows featured the blue kit. It had a plain black bass head with (I believe) 'Ayotte' printed on it in white across the top. This kit showed up again at a corporate gig for Disney in '05 where the head was just black. It appeared to have something rectangular across the top - either some sort of clear plate, or else perhaps something to cover over the Ayotee words.

For info on the red drumset, click the link above. I'm thinking that much of the info there applies to the new drumset too.
